Curator narration for this scene.
Lavaudieu gathers around the abbey of Saint-André on the bank of the Senouire, a village of stone houses beneath its Romanesque abbey church. The community was founded in 1057 by Robert de Turlande as a priory of Benedictine nuns, in a sheltered valley below the Livradois. Its cloister, built in the twelfth century, is the only Romanesque cloister preserved in Auvergne.
