Curator narration for this scene.
Carennac, in the Lot, grew around a Cluniac priory founded in the middle of the eleventh century in the fertile Dordogne valley. At its heart stand the Romanesque church of Saint-Pierre, famed for its sculpted tympanum, and the cloister, rebuilt in the fifteenth century and holding a celebrated Entombment sculpture of that period. Stone houses and the sixteenth-century priory castle complete one of the most harmonious villages of the Quercy.
Every Jason D’s Vision image is an AI-generated artistic interpretation of a real place — original artwork, not a photograph. The label bar on the download may show a creative daylight scenario; that is artistic staging, not a record of a real event.
