About this artwork

Above its park at Ferney-Voltaire, near Geneva, stands the château Voltaire built as his last home: a classical principal block of pale stone, its garden elevation opening toward lawns and old trees. Voltaire bought the estate in 1758, raised the central part by 1761 and added two wings in 1765 for the stream of visitors who came to see him. From the park the view runs toward the Jura and the Alps. The town took his name in 1791, thirteen years after his death.

Every Jason D’s Vision image is an AI-generated artistic interpretation of a real place — original artwork, not a photograph. The label bar on the download may show a creative daylight scenario; that is artistic staging, not a record of a real event.
